The Rules Are Simple:

  2. Share one of your favorite song/lyrics one at a time for three days.
  3. Nominate three other bloggers each day.

The Song/Lyrics I Want To Share With You Today Is:

I wanted to share this song in particular because while living with chronic pain, little things like a good upbeat song, brings me to the greatest of moods. While I don’t always have time – nor am I ‘up to date’ with the current ‘jams,’ this song I especially like. It’s by the group ‘Walk The Moon’ and the song is, ‘Shut Up and Dance’ – it gives me a little Rick Astley ‘Together Forever’ vibes.

Walk The Moon – ‘Shut Up And Dance’

Oh don’t you dare look back
Just keep your eyes on me
I said you’re holding back
She said shut up and dance with me
This woman is my destiny
She said oh oh oh
Shut up and dance with me

We were victims of the night
The chemical, physical, kryptonite
Helpless to the bass and the fading light
Oh we were bound to get together
Bound to get together

She took my arm
I don’t know how it happened
We took the floor and she said

Oh don’t you dare look back
Just keep your eyes on me
I said you’re holding back
She said shut up and dance with me
This woman is my destiny
She said oh oh oh
Shut up and dance with me

A backless dress and some beat up sneaks
My discotheque Juliet teenage dream
I felt it in my chest as she looked at me
I knew we were bound to be together
Bound to be together

She took my arm
I don’t know how it happened
We took the floor and she said

Oh don’t you dare look back
Just keep your eyes on me
I said you’re holding back
She said shut up and dance with me
This woman is my destiny
She said oh oh oh
Shut up and dance with me

Oh, c’mon girl
Deep in her eyes
I think I see the future
I realize this is my last chance

She took my arm
I don’t know how it happened
We took the floor and she said

Oh don’t you dare look back
Just keep your eyes on me
I said you’re holding back
She said shut up and dance with me
This woman is my destiny
She said oh oh oh
Shut up and dance

Don’t you dare look back
Just keep your eyes on me
I said you’re holding back
She said shut up and dance with me
This woman is my destiny
She said oh oh oh
Shut up and dance with me

Oh oh oh shut up dance with me
Oh oh oh shut up dance with me

    1. Yes! She also seems like such a down to earth woman, no diva like attitude to what I can gather. I do know she doesn’t like people taking out their phone at her concerts. She’ll stop signing to single people out and ask them to stop taking pictures and enjoy the show. 🤷🏽‍♀️😆😊

  1. I love this song!
Every time I hear this song it throws me back to one particular memory – my wife was 8 months pregnant, and I had been sent away on a quick business trip. I was constantly checking my phone, and just generally terrified that I’d miss the birth of our first child (thankfully, I didn’t).
This song happened to be the ultra popular song of the time, and I was constantly hearing it everywhere I went.
Anyways, great song, thanks for sharing.
