The Journey Continues: Toy Story 4 + Toy Story Land

Our family is excited for Toy Story 4 to be released June 21st. I’m also overjoyed to know that director Josh Cooley has confirmed that the late comedian Don Rickels, the voice of Mr. Potato Head is still part of the franchise with this fourth installment. There are a few new characters, faces and voices like actors Keanu Reeves, Jordan Peele and Keegan-Micheal Key and Tony Hale as ‘Forky’ – Bonnie’s new friend and toy. Also, if you have a chance to visit Walt Disney World, go ahead and head over to Hollywood Studios’ Toy Story Land. It debuted on June 30, 2018 and still has guests lining up to ride Slinky Dog Dash, Alien Swirling Saucers and snacking at Woody’s Lunch Box. Toy Story Land is meant to be a ‘toys-eye-view’ from Andy’s backyard. Unfortunately for that reason, there is very little shade throughout which can be refreshing on a hot Orlando day. If you go, be sure to wear sunscreen, take an umbrella or a hat to keep cool.

  2. Wooohoooo I’m quite looking forward to this too. I still feel like the first can’t be beaten because it was such a novelty and a classic, but I’m sure this one will still be a lot of fun. Not sure on a favourite character, I think they all offer something original and it’s great to see lots of recognisable voices will be in this 4th instalment. And wow, Toy Story Land looks amazing! =]

    1. Oh I agree! The first one made an impact in the world of animation. Toy Story Land is truly amazing – hot, but nothing a cooling towel and water can’t help you with. The issue is that there is little to no shade, because the concept of us – humans, being tiny in ‘Andy’s backyard’ and walking in the grass = no shade 😣😂 People are walking out of there, red as a tomato and ready to take refuge in a air conditioned place.

    1. Yes! Well, it seems he did record for this new movie from what I’ve read, but you may be right! I didn’t think about them going back to old recordings. Perhaps because when one of the voice actors has passed like the original voice for Slinky the dog, they’ve found a replacement to mimic the original voice / tone.

      14. That’s good to know. We’re good, been a few changes going on, my parents are now with us for temporarily. A lease fell through and we had them come to our home. But God knows what he does because we found out a little bit ago she’ll be needing heart surgery. So, Gods timing is just perfect, as she’ll be here with me for recovery.

  10. That looks so good! I wish I could watch it with my niece and nephews…we used to watch 1 and 2 over and over and overland then we added 3…. lol! Have fun! I think 1 will always be my favorite.
